What it does

What your agent can do with Facebook

Facebook is several products under one domain, and the catalog here reflects that: 23 endpoints covering pages and their posts, comments with replies, video transcripts and summaries, reels, photos, the ad library, Marketplace listings, events, group posts and page reviews.

Nine billed tools are named directly. get_transcript returns the spoken words of a public video for 15 credits and get_summary a short written summary for 17. get_post_stats gives one post’s likes, comments and shares for 5. get_comments (3 per comment) and get_comment_replies (3 per reply) walk a discussion. get_profile returns a page’s follower count and about section for 10, get_channel_posts its recent posts for 3 each, get_reviews its public ratings and reviews at 3 per review, and download_media direct media URLs for 10. The rest, ad search and single ads, page ads, events and event search, group posts, Marketplace search and items, photos, reels, followers and following, run through call_endpoint at 3 to 5 credits; list_endpoints prints the whole table without charge.

If you administer the page, Meta’s own Graph API gives you more for free. This server is for the pages you don’t own: competitors, partners, public figures, venues, and the pages your customers talk about. Give the agent a page URL or handle and let it decide which of the 23 calls answers the question.

Five jobs it finishes on its own

01

Profile a competitor's page

Ten credits for page stats, 150 for fifty posts, 3 per review. An agent can tell you posting cadence, what gets shared, and what customers complain about in reviews, all from public pages.

02

Read a video instead of watching it

A town-hall recording, a product demo, a political page's live stream. get_transcript gives you the words for 15 credits; get_summary gives you two paragraphs for 17.

03

Research ads in the library

ads-search by keyword and page-ads by page, both via call_endpoint, return what a page is currently running. Pair with get_channel_posts to see the organic side of the same campaign.

04

Monitor events and Marketplace

events-search for a keyword, page-events for a venue, marketplace-search for a product category. Three credits a result, and an agent can diff today's list against yesterday's.

05

Walk a comment thread with replies

get_comments for the top level, get_comment_replies for the thread under any comment. Three credits each, newest first, 50 to a page. Enough to reconstruct an argument.

Limits · read before you connect

What this does not do

Written by a person, not generated. If something here is wrong, tell us.

Public Facebook only, read without a session: friends-only posts, private groups, Messenger and the Page Insights only admins see aren’t reachable. A private or deleted post produces not found without a charge. List tools cap at 50 items per call, charge by the item, and never bill under 1 credit once they succeed. Transcript and summary are the dear calls at 15 and 17 credits, so an agent should confirm the user wants a video’s content before fetching it. Group posts work for public groups only. Nothing here comments, reacts or messages on your behalf.

Tools

11 tools, same names as the every-platform hub

9 do one Facebook thing each. The last two reach all 23 endpoints by path, so nothing in the catalog is out of an agent's reach.

Questions

Before you connect

Do I need a Facebook login? #

No. A ScraperSocial key is all you supply; pages are read the way a logged-out browser sees them.

Why did a call cost 15 credits? #

That's get_transcript. Summary is 17, page stats and download are 10, post stats are 5, and comments, replies, posts and reviews are 3 per item.

Is this the Graph API or a Meta partner product? #

Neither. ScraperSocial is not a Meta product and not a Meta partner; it's independent, and it returns what's publicly visible. For pages you own, the Graph API is the better and cheaper tool.

Can it read private groups or friends-only posts? #

No. Only public groups and public posts. Everything else surfaces as not found, unmetered.

How do I reach the ad library and Marketplace tools? #

Through call_endpoint with paths like /v1/facebook/ads-search, /v1/facebook/page-ads or /v1/facebook/marketplace-search. list_endpoints shows every path with its input and cost.

What's a comment page? #

Up to 50 comments, newest first, 3 credits each, and a cursor to continue from. Replies under a single comment use get_comment_replies at the same rate.
